I dropped off my bull moose at the taxidermist yesterday. Won't see him now for another 6 months to a year. I just had a question on protocol for tipping a taxidermist. Is tipping expected, or is the price they tell you up front all the money that they are truly expecting to get the day you pick up your mount? What have you guys done in the past?

Maybe something like "You could have left a little less white behind the eyes" or "Elk don't typically smile.". But I would only Use these types of tips when necessary and if you don't plan on using this particular taxidermist again.

Tipping is absolutely necessary!

I think a flat rate of 30% of the original price is acceptable.

Really though, I get tipped quite often. It's usually 5 bucks here, 10 bucks there, but I don't expect it. It is however a nice "thank you" to get from a happy customer. :D
