A few months ago I was in the market for a new rod. I looked at all three of those ended up with the Loomis. I've always been partial to them, but it just felt the best to me. I put a Evolution reel on it and some SA line and I have loved it.

What I was replacing was my old loomis that I made, along with the same reel set up. Fish the lower Henry's Fork and you may be the new owner.

Hello DavidB.
Yes it's me! I was also caught off guard when I loged on to the DWR site and found the forums were shut down.
I knew that there was a good chance that it would get shut down, but I had no idea that it would happen so fast.
With a lot of help from Cory, we have tried to make this place as close to the old place as possible.
There shouldn't be a lot of changes, but there are a few things in the works that will make this place a great resourse for hunting and fishing.

As to your question about the rods, I have never fished with either rod myself.
Both get good reviews so my suggestion would be to demo both and see which one you like.
I'm sure that you would be happy with either one.
I fish with Saint Croix myself and like the quality for the price.
Good fishing, Grandpa D.

I'm glad that the setup of this website is simlar to the previous one, I think it will make an easier transition for everyone who decides to come back! I hope we get a large majority of the previous forum members. Everyone's input made for a lot of learning!
+1. i loved everyones input it made things awesome to learn from everyones wealth of knowledge. its sad now though because everyone went different ways, some to bft, some to uutah, some to uotf, ect. i hope people get directed here though as this looks like a really good thing.

I have been a member of BFT and UOTF for a long time. Both sites have great information and people.
I just found the DWR site to be a better fit for me.
We plan to stay close to the spirit of the old DRW site here.
It will be up to the members to make that happen.
So far it looks like a great start!

IM on all of those. I wont be going back to bft except to check on the jig tying class. Im not sure Im in the league of the guys on uotf yet as Im a beginner that is still trying to say out of my line as I cast.... Lastly I love uutah, as it is a bunch of adrenline junkies like myself. I will probally split my time between them and this site as I did on the DWR forum. I did try to get some of the members to join there to kick start the fishing section as it doesnt get much action compared to the rest. I also love to post in the dark room over there.
