after catching my grayling i decided it was time to kick it into high gear and finally catch my elusive tiger. that would complete my goals for this year.

i woke up early and on my way to my destination the sunrise welcomed me.

when i got to my lake the fish were rolling so i decided to try a dry. after nothing a put a pt dropper on and got one. i decided i had enough of this so i put on my leech under an indicator. after about 2 seconds it was dancing around. i set the hook and brought in a 15" tiger. the morning was hot fishing for 15-16" tigers that look like this.

i only caught two that had the orangish red fall colors. im guessing those were the males and most of the ones i caught were females?

quick funny story. i had fish rising to my indicator so i put a grasshopper on and got a few fish that way. while i had one fish on my leech about 3 feet from shore he darted again and a big tiger saw my hopper dart and he swallowed it. i was now fighting two tigers one of them probably about 18-20" compared to the other one. i had them both about 2 feet from my net and one went one way while the other went the other way at the same time and both snapped my line clean off :x

anyways scratched another one off the list and had an awesome time. tigers fight the hardest in my books. i love how they love to jump also. one walked about 15 feet on the water. it was way cool.

Good to hear it, Chuck! Glad you caught your first Tigers. It's always a good feeling when you catch a new species.
