Well done!
Way cool! The amount of work put into your setup let alone the amount of shooting it takes to be consistently accurate with trad gear is a testament to your dedication. As a former trad guy I applaud you--that is cool that you make your own broadheads, back when I was in it I thought I was cool just sharpening my own magnus BHs and here you make your own! Keep it up!

Absolutely Freakin' Awesome!!!
You mean to tell me you can kill a deer without a head that expands, slices, dices, minces, fillets and guts your deer??
Seriously though, I want to hear more about those broadheads. Where did you get your metal? Old saw blades?

Well done Randy, well done.

thanks chuck,
they were made out of 14 gauge sheet metal (soft metal) about the width of a nickle. my cousin had laying around. (he's a machinist by trade.) i asked him if i could make braodheads out of it. so he made a punch and punch a bunch of them out for me. after punching them out they came out to be 3 3/8 long and 1 inch wide and 180 grains after i had shaped them to were i wanted them (to fit the bamboo arrows) they ended up at 2 3/4 long 1 in wide and 135 grain i put a single beveled edge on then at 35 degree angle.. in the one picture (after the shot) it is bent on the tip. i did not do any hardening and tempering with the steel as you can see. with the rest of the cut outs i have i will dot this extra step and hardening tempering them... but for the most part they worked great and held an edge just fine. i will try saw blade next after all theses i have are gone no since wasting them...lol

P.S. i hit the deer in the brisket. his front leg was forward as i hit the brisket it entered the brisket just above the heart took out the top part of the heart and the arteries above the heart and landed in the opposite side shoulder were it bent.. that's when the bamboo arrow had broke.
