I have never done much with cameras or bait. I have a friend that baits heavily all year long on his private land. They stopped buying the "expensive" stuff that is made specifically for hunters. Instead, they buy two things: Water softener salt (@ $5 per 40lbs) or corn based dog food (cheap).
Add to those all the apples and apricots they could pick up from their trees. This is the stuff that really brings them in when the hunt gets going. You get them trained on the cheap stuff, then make them beg with the over-ripe sweets.
Remember to remove the apricot from its mouth before you snap the kill pic. Oh, and clean up the background too.
