I was at Cabela's the other day and i was looking at shotguns. I would like a new one since my 870 only shoots 3 inch and 2 3/4 shells. They had a tri-star semi-auto that they had for like $500. I was just wondering if these are good shotguns or if i would be better off with a charles daly or another brand.

Well; I'm sure it will be a fine auto for the money. I know a couple of guys with them and they function okay for. I have had many differnet brands of autos. I now primarly use a Benelli SBE and purchased myself a Beretta Xtreme 2 the other day, still in the tryout stages on it, but the outlook is good. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend and how much you will use it; also go around and mount a lot of different guns and see which fits you the best. No matter what you pay for it; if it doesn't fit, you won't be happy with it.
