Ok goose hunt is still open in the urban area, right? Farmington bay is urban ,right? I want to take my wife with me tomorrow, she has never been on a hunt with me. We will be walking, can someone point me in a direction where I will be legal there? Please no hot spotting wanted, just a day outside with my honey. Will it be a waste of time? Or should I go looking for bunnies out west. Just want her to see what goes on and try and get her interested. Also want to try my new weatherby semi auto 20 gauge. If she likes it then maybe a 28 gauge is in the future.( get my thinking there?) Thanks for any advise.

Here is a map of the urban zone for your reference. Farmington Bay is definitely in there.

And here is a map of the WMA so you know where you're legal and where you're not.

Unfortunately, I don't have any current information on if/where geese are flying there. I tend to think you would have better chances on the East side (since it's closer to town), but that's pure speculation. It will take a fair bit of luck to get a goose there, so enjoy your walk and see what you can find. It's a nice place to be, birds or no birds.
