I shot a spike elk this past week that was still in velvet and wondered how I can keep the velvet on it. Is there any DIY ways? If it comes to it is there any taxidermists in the tooele area?

Get some antler cure asap and inject it with a needle. You might be too late though as slippage starts quick. You can also freeze dry it if you have access to the equipment

My friend is a taxidermist and he injects the velvet with embalming fluid. He said its hard to get. I not sure where he buys it from.
