I have a question if anyone is willing to help me out. I'm a dedicated hunter that hasn't filled my tag yet. I live in Salt Lake and even though I've spent a fair amount of time hikeing and skiing in the Wasatch, I've never hunted close to home. I'd like to get out with my bow a few more days but I'm not really sure where to start. Anybody steer me in the right direction? I'm young and fit and more than willing to hike. Don't give away your secret spot but if you've some suggests on a place to start I'd apperciate it.

There are deer up pretty much every canyon. About this time of year you'll find more and more out on the faces overlooking the valley and moving lower in elevation (depending on the snow depth). Just be careful and respectful of private property/homeowners along the foothills.

The challenge of hunting the Wasatch is finding access. But Millcreek Canyon's a good place to start. Hunt the north side or take the cross country trail east from the parking lot at the end of the road. $2.25 fee when you exit the canyon.
