It took me all of 5 minutes on Google Earth to find where their base camp was located at from what they said on the video.

As a FYI you have been told of this area in one of your many "Where to find bears in Utah" post.

 

Looks like the south end of the pine valley mtns to me.

You just need to get out and burn some boot leather and you'll find bears. You have been told some fantastic areas,but don't expect to just drive around to find them. Everywhere isn't like Yellowstone

I'd say that you are 30-40 miles off as the crow flies.

But there are bears up Gordon Creek around the old National coal mine

Dude, you could literally have GPS coordinates to the spot this bear was killed. And if you don't spend days behind glass and miles hiking you will not see a bear in utah.

 

I know. I am just generally curious where they are at. I am assuming it is one of the "big 3" bear units. Of those it definitely is not La Sal.

Very likely. You guys have taught me in these threads that bears are opportunists and will go almost anywhere there is consistent food and water as long as the elevation isn't too low or high.

 

I'm guessing that Jbrow is the creator of the video and getting more views by posting it here and continuing the conversation. It hooked me in, I watched it to see the old mine etc. I wish he would have discussed more about the unethical hunters and what exactly happened. Maybe he did and I just missed it.
