A question posed by my wife when I explained to her that I had to break 150 ft of ice just so I could get to some open water to sit in and shoot ducks. She looked befuddled and confused. For a brief moment I pondered the question and came to the conclusion that I do not want to waste anymore time thinking about it when there are ducks to shoot.

I get that same reaction when I go out in freezing temps to walk to my birds... the wife just doesnt' understand how important it is. She thinks I'm nuts to walk as far as I do in search of birds but she sees the pictures I get and kinda gets why I go where I do.

My wife asked the same question Sunday night after she decided to walk with me. 3 miles each way to sit on the ice and miss one greenhead. I enjoyed it. Just wish the swans would have come a little closer. She said unless I make the walk shorter she won't go again.
