So I am taking the wife out for her first ice fishing excursion on monday. I would like to go somewhere close to SL as she doesn't want to be out there all day long, (frankly I don't think she'd even last all day!) Should we hit Rockport, East Canyon, Jordanelle, or Deer Creek?

Id give East Canyon a try as well. We have been doing pretty good there, anywhere you go I would give maniac ice cuttrs a try, they work!

I agree with EC.
Park at the boat ramp. Easy to get on the ice from there.
Bathrooms are also close.
Take some chemical hand warmers for your wife, and something warm to drink.
If she stays warm, she will have fun. Good boots are a must!
When she is ready to go home, GO!
Good luck and good fishing,
Grandpa D.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I think EC sounds like the way to go. I don't want her to regret agreeing to go, as its been kinda hard to talk her into it anyway! So it will be nice to have the restrooms close and a good shot at some bigger fish for us both.
