I have seen many post on different forums on which call to buy but nothing on a effective note on goose call. So I was wondering which note on the goose call you guys think is most effective? (Lay down, Hail, ect) Bought a Acrylic goose call earlier this year and have been practicing. And it made me start thinking which note would be the best to practice over and over.

When you scout listen to what they are calling and minmic it to the flocks coming in when you hunt that spot. I try to listen to the flocks as they fly and do the minumiun to get there attention, less is more most times. Try to ge the basic honk down then work up to the other calls. good luck.

I think this is very true but I believe in the calling instruction thread, somebody said that if you can do clucks, thats a very short easy to blow note and a few clucks will be all you need to do.... if you're with somebody else, you can compliment their calling with just clucks.... its simple, easy, a common noise made by geese and its a start at least.
